Who? MUNA
What’s the story? LA trio MUNA instantly captivated us with the brilliant Loudspeaker, which we placed as our best song of 2015. It's a track that, five months on, still comes at us like a rocket; a hit-in-waiting for when the group becomes more widely known. Now, they return with a new track Winterbreak, and we're delighted to report that it's a worthy followup. A glitchy, brooding, pensive verse gives way to shards of light as a gloriously bittersweet chorus chimes in, while Katie Gavin's distinctive vocals and mournful lyrics tie the whole thing together. The track, and the band, is already starting to get the attention they deserve, with shows at South By South West booked in for next month. If there's any justice, this band will be huge, but for now they're our little secret; enjoy it while you can.

In three words: Emotional synth gloriousness
