Firstly, we're only months away from the release of Room 237, a documentary about the many theories involved with the hidden meanings of the film and that will be followed by Doctor Sleep, a King-penned sequel to his original novel that will hit bookstores next January.
This past weekend, news has leaked that Warner Bros are also considering a celluloid prequel to Kubrick's chilling adaptation.
According to the LA Times, the studio has reached out to writer-producer Laeta Kalogridis and her partners Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt, who between them have worked on Avatar, Black Swan and Zodiac, to come up with some ideas.
Although it's very early in development, the plot will follow Jack Torrance before his fateful time at the Overlook Hotel.
What do you think? Is it worth exploring?
