After last year's surprisingly rather awesome (and profitable) cinematic Muppets comeback, 20th Century Fox are bringing Jim Henson's rather more sensible baby to the big screen.
The informative creatures of Sesame Street are being brought to life yet again by director Shawn Levy, he of Real Steel and Night of the Museum fame.
Despite the recent revelation that the show was actually used to torture detainees at Guantanamo Bay, execs believe a new generation of kids are up for befriending Big Bird and the gang. The script is being penned by Joey Mazzarino, a longtime writer from the show, which bodes well.
It might not be a quick turnaround however as director Levy is starting work on new comedy The Internship in July. The film reunites Wedding Crashers stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.
Would you be up for a Sesame Street movie?
