Picture the scene: for one night a year, lawlessness descends in cities across America as a bout of government-sanctioned violence forces innocents into their homes and wrong-doers onto the streets in a strange social cleansing exercise.
We are, of course, alluding to The Purge - last year’s sleeper horror hit which starred Ethan Hawke as the middle class home security high-flyer whose held hostage with his family in their fortress during the fraught 12hr affair where urban chaos erupts all around.
Clearly looking to strike while the iron's hot, the sequel has already been made, and now we have a trailer. Focusing on a couple of youngsters, stranded as their car breaks down in the city (what are the chances) and on the run from a blood-thirsty gang, The Purge: Anarchy looks every bit as ridiculous as the first.
We can’t wait. But while we do, impatiently, there's also a new poster to check out below...
The Purge: Anarchy is out in cinemas from 25 July
