After exercising his lungs, and nabbing an Oscar nomination in the process, in Les Miserables, 2013 looks like being a stellar year for Hugh Jackman. Next up, we're seeing him back in superhero mode for The Wolverine and then, he's stripping things back for an intriguing thriller called Prisoners.
The dark character-driven film stars Jackman and Terrence Howard as fathers who find themselves in a devastating situation when their daughters go missing. In comes a detective, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who finds the key suspect but lets him go due to lack of evidence.
Cue justice-seeking.
Ignoring the slightly generic outline, the trailer looks like the film will be a challenging watch. Expectations are also raised by the choice of director, Denis Villeneuve, who was behind the extremely powerful Canadian drama Incendies. Oh and the cast also includes Maria Bello, Paul Dano, Viola Davis and Melissa Leo.
Sold, sold and sold. What do you think?
