When Disney picked up the Star Wars franchise for £2.5 billion, there was a disturbance amongst its legions of fans.
Was the house of mouse going to do the unthinkable? Could it make a worse Star Wars film than Episodes I through III? Would Jar Jar Binks return in a deluge of family-friendly bilge?
Turns out - no. The Force Awakens looks darker than any instalment in the Star Wars canon, the latest trailer hinting at mass genocide, planetary destruction and an awful lot of Dark Side mumblings.
We can't wait. But we'll have to - until 18 December.
