How do you turn one of the most well-read novels ever into a movie and keep it fresh and non-clichéd?
Well, if you're Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann and you're adapting The Great Gatsby you'll utilise two major things: 3D and Jay-Z.
After much anticipation, we finally get our first look at the trailer for his upcoming drama and it looks, well, rather great. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the man himself, it's an epic take on F Scott Fitzgerald's classic and although the choice of 3D might have seemed odd, the world we see in the trailer looks like it'll be worthy of an extra dimension. Oh and we're guessing the Jay-Z and Kanye West song in the trailer probably won't be used in the film...
It also stars Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and Carey Mulligan and looks set for Oscar glory next year. Mark our very obvious words.
The Great Gatsby is released on May 10th 2013
