So while it doesn't look like he'll be making a gritty crime drama which doesn't star Bill Murray any time soon, he will be providing us with more of the same. In the best way possible.
After Moonrise Kingdom, his most acclaimed film to date, he's back with another quirky star-studded affair. Like his previous films, The Grand Budapest Hotel boasts one hell of a cast list, including Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, Willem Dafoe, Owen Wilson and, yes, Bill Murray.
Our first look at the film has arrived and while it is rather familiar, it's also rather great.
