The cost of Wayne Manor

The cost of Wayne Manor

The cost of Wayne Manor
18 July 2012

While Bruce Wayne has a heck of a lot to contend with, he's also incredibly rich which makes his justice-serving problems a little easier to deal with.

But just how rich is he? Well real estate company Movoto decided to work out exactly how much Wayne Manor would actually cost. You know, because why not yeah?

The figure they came up with? Oh just $32.1million (£20.4m). To get to this figure they used a map of Wayne Manor from a role-playing game in the 90s and found there to be 11 bedrooms, 7 baths, a pool, a gym, a library, a gallery and too many other rooms to list.

It would have a total square footage of 42,500 and each square foot would amount to $849 (£542). Although it exists near a fictional city, they decided to use Chicago as the closest alternative. Given the fact that Nolan filmed great portions of his trilogy there and that theoretically Metropolis is New York City which means that in the DC universe, Batman wouldn't exist in the same city.

They decided not to include the Batcave in the cost as Bruce would probably choose to keep it secret.

Oh and yes we know that the Manor was destroyed at the end of Batman Begins but in some Batman universe, it still exists. In the same universe, we're also his website of choice. And Michelle Pfeiffer is still Catwoman.
