There were some unexpected results in the weekend's Premier League games, the Midlands managing to upset the entirety of Manchester: United's slump into early-season disarray was furthered by a loss to West Brom, while Aston Villa managed to come from behind and turn the Blue half of Manchester an embarrassed shade of red.
But no one was blushing as much as today's fabulous own goal scorer, Pavol Ďurica from Hungarian side FC Fehérvár. Late on in their 2008 game against Debreceni VSC in the Hungarian Cup quarter final, DVSC were awarded a penalty. The striker stepped up and forced a fine save from the keeper - keeping them in the game. What happened next took a considerable degree of skill, and a vast dollop of back luck.
FC Fehérvár released Ďurica from his contract a few days after the game. Poor lad.
