Superb Eye-Catching Geometric GIFs

Traditionally, ‘throwing shapes’ means someone is currently on their eighth Smirnoff Ice at a wedding reception and drunkenly flailing their arms to Haddaway. To be fair, that is a massive tune.

Happily though, that’s not the thinking behind these geometric GIFs, which don’t so much catch the eye with shapes as assault it, leaving you near blinded with a flurry of fast moving geometric patterns.

The works - by Dutch designer Florian de Looij - shift cubes, lines, squares and squiggles around to terrific, mind-bending effect all right - if only high school mathematics had been this cool.

See more of de Looij’s work here, or follow the cube happy artist on Twitter.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
