If you had to pick a Stephen King work that’s most likely to keep you up at night with the heebie jeebies, what would you choose? The Shining, maybe? Or how about ‘Pennywise the dancing clown’ classic It?
Well, if you ask the writer himself he’ll probably plump for his 1983 horror novel Pet Sematary, which he reportedly once declared his most frightening ever work.
The plot – about a couple who resurrect their dead son with horrifying results – served as the basis for a successful 1989 film and now the movie, which is filled with more death, insanity and bizarre burial rituals than you can shake a spooky stick as, has been remade.

Here’s the official synopsis:
Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbour, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
The new movie is directed by Starry Eyes duo Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, with a screenplay by Jeff Buhler.
The film is expected to be hit cinemas in April 2019.
