Star Wars Episode VII Cast Announced

We've blitzed the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs to bring you the most exciting Star Wars news of the year: the cast of J J Abrams' eagerly awaited Episode VII.

Announced on the official Star Wars site, the announced cast are as follows:

"Actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in the new film."

Abrams also shares his feelings on the news: "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

John Boyega is best known for Attack the Block while Adam Driver has been Hannah's love interest in Girls. Oscar Isaac was recently seen in Inside Llewyn Davis and Domhnall Gleeson in About Time. The relatively unknown Daisy Ridley has had roles in Silent Witness and Mr Selfridge.
