‘Is this a new trailer I see before me?’
Well if you want to get all dramatic about it, yes it is. Furthermore, it promises us another muddy eyeful of the barnstorming action in Macbeth, the big screen adpatation of William Shakespeare classic starring Michael Fassbender as the titular tyrant.
Rampaging soldiers, slow motion shots of gritty stares, glorious landscapes and foggy silhouettes set the mood, while Fassbender looks in impervious form as the paranoid Scottish general-turned-King as darkness is cast all around him. The trailer also comes hot on the heels of some fetching character posters which we've included below for your perusal.
Directed by Justin Kurzel (currently shooting Fassbender in the big screen adaptation of video game Assassin’s Creed), it also stars Marion Cotillard, Paddy Considine, David Thewlis, Sean Harris, Jack Reynor and Elizabeth Debicki.
We’re not quite sure what the Bard would have made of this blockbuster take on his work, though we’re fairly hopeful critics will soon be saying all the right things about this take on Macbeth.
Or should that be 'the film we should not name'?
Macbeth is released in cinemas from 2 October
