Horror films might come along thick and fast these days but not many can boast a director who was behind two of the last decade's most popular scary movies.
James Wan, the cruel scare-bringer who helmed Saw and Insidious, has just unveiled the first look at his latest, worryingly titled The Conjuring.
And even though it goes through all the familiar stages (based on a "true story", a woman alone in a house, ghostly sounds), it's undeniably effective. Yes, we did jump.

It stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga (although neither crop up in the trailer) as a couple who investigate paranormal happenings, leading them to Lili Taylor, who we see plagued below.
