The Pompeii teaser lands

It's been a good 16 years since we had a proper volcano movie and in 1997, we were treated to TWO of them.

But hoping to add a bit more class to the subgenre than Volcano and Dante's Peak did, the historical epic Pompeii goes back to ancient Roman times to tell the story of the infamous eruption.

Our first brief look at the film is here and it's a mix of dramatic voiceover, unfair abs and lots of lava. It stars Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) as a gladiator who falls in love with a noblewoman pre-catastrophe.

Kiefer Sutherland and Emily Browning also star. We're currently choosing to ignore the fact that it comes from the director of Mortal Kombat and Alien Vs Predator.
