The colour Pink isn't exactly synonymous with masculinity. But what do you do if you desperately want a car in that shade, yet don’t want to damage your oh-so-important street cred?
Thankfully, ShortList has found the answer – well, as long as you’ve got £100,000 knocking about. The original Pink Panther motor is set to go to auction for only the second time in its long life. Known as the Panthermobile, it was featured on the title credits of the show in 1969 and exudes the classic Sixties cool of this era-defining television show.
It was designed Jay Ohrberg – the man responsible for creating K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, The Back To The Future DeLorean as well as the 1966 Batmobile. The vehicle is described as being in its original condition but would, "benefit from some sympathetic restoration". Which is there way of saying that the engine isn’t working and it needs a little Sunday afternoon man-love.
If you’re interested then head on over to bidspotter.co.uk for the online auction on Friday 14 October.
