It's almost like the less they try, the better it is.
After all the manic manoeuvrings of the new Top Gear to try and get people to like it (with limited success, as has been well documented), all The Grand Tour (the new vehicle for Clarkson, Hammond and May) has done is release small clips, with barely an actual car in sight, demonstrating the chemistry that the three have as a presenting team.
Take, for example, the latest video posted to their YouTube channel: it's just the trio standing around and laughing as James May tells a ludicrous story about, well, driving a car - we won't say any more than that.
It's effortless stuff, mainly because of its lack of effort. Imagine how good it's going to be when we see the stuff they actually tried on?

The Grand Tour hits Amazon Prime this autumn (transmission date still to be confirmed)

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
