Who doesn’t like Jason Bateman? Having carved a career in Hollywood playing the nice guy, or the ‘straight’ man, it’s not very often you see Arrested Development 's patriarch playing, well, a bit of a jerk.
With this in mind, let us introduce you to Bateman’s upcoming directorial debut, Bad Words, a black comedy in which the man arguably plays the biggest douche of his career: an embittered adult exploiting a loophole in spelling bee competitions to snatch the glory from kids and give them a verbal bashing while he’s at it.
Since featuring on (Hollywood insider bible) The Black List a couple of years ago, hyped has surrounded Andrew Dodge's screenplay, and from what we can see from this new trailer (below), that hype could well be justified.
The film is slated for a March release.
