We all love burgers. That is incontrovertible scientific fact. We also all love movies.

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Without question the greatest scene involving a burger in cinematic history. The saddest aspect of Brett's death is that he never did get to eat that tasty burger, nor wash it down with that tasty beverage. Jules did though, the lucky man.

Good Will Hunting (1997)

There is nothing nobler to have an argument about than a burger, and especially a double burger. No-one should be forced, hungry for some burger action, to have their dinner tantalisingly kept from them - we certainly wouldn't stand for it.

Better Off Dead (1985)

A brilliantly surreal sequence where a burger is brought to life before Lane's eyes, given the spark of life by some lightning attacking the burger joint he is working in. To be fair, we've had some pretty similar dreams after one too many Big Macs.

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs (2009)

In one of your many manic childhood drawings, you might have imagined a world where burgers literally fall from the sky. In this delicious clip from the surprisingly excellent animated adventure, that very thing actually happens. Contain yourself.

Good Burger (1997)

Given the title, this movie had to feature somewhere didn't it? And what greater moment to feature than another bout of burger-based hallucinations - this time with an ensemble cast of the meaty wonders.

The Simpsons Movie (2007)

You can take your Whoppers, your Big Macs, even your gourmet recipes; none of them will compare to a Krusty Burger right? At least, that's what the adverts keep telling me. And adverts are always right, aren't they?

Eagle vs Shark (2007)

One of the most awkward chat-up scenes in movie history, against a backdrop of a Big Boy burger meal. Lily sweetly offers extra cheese (free) and big fries (free). We don't know why Jarrod doesn't immediately offer to marry her, we'd be in like a shot.

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (2004)

Many of our nights out feel like this. An exhausting expedition from pub to club, a strenuous workout wowing the discotheque with our stellar moves and then, when the friendly finger of tiredness taps us on the shoulder, the move to the final destination: the fast food joint. And lo, shall we enjoy our well-earned nutritious burgers, for we have truly earned them, just like Harold & Kumar.

Falling Down (1993)

This man wants breakfast. But he soon learns the error of his ways: a burger is much more satisfying, especially when the chef is preparing it at gunpoint. Honestly, what else can you do when customer service isn't what it used to be?

Dumb & Dumber (1994)

Another burger experience we can thoroughly empathise with: you've entered the restaurant, you're feeling confident, yeah, you can take on the mega-spicy one, no problem at all. You can handle a vindaloo; this'll be easy. Half an hour and one distinctly fiery mouth later, and you realise the deep, deep error of your ways. Poor Joe though, he didn't even ask for it - that pesky duo thought it would be funny...
