He gave a seminal 'performance' of it in Back to the Future, but 26 years later, on Saturday night, Michael J. Fox played it for real at his annual charity benefit.

Called A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson's and hosted in New York, the event was a star-studded affair, with the likes of Ricky Gervais, Kid Cudi and Ryan Reynolds attending.

But host Michael J. Fox, who has battled the disease since 1991, stole the show, playing a red Gibson guitar, identical to the one in the seminal scene from the film, and belting out the rock 'n' roll classic by Chuck Berry.

Michael didn't actually play the part in the film - he mimed along - but learnt it soon after, and as you can see from the video, he's not lost his touch; he'd have got Hill Valley High going mad for it.
