Later this year, queues will stretch around the block, execs will nervously track the stock market from their Californian HQ, and Steve Jobs will once more be heralded as a visionary.
We're not talking about some glitzy Apple product launch though. Rather the first trailer for Danny Boyle's Jobs biopic which - after a raft of stellar names including Christian Bale and Leonardo Di Caprio were once attached to the role - stars Michael Fassbender as the Mac Messiah.
And fitting of the company itself, this teaser is keeping its (SD) cards close to its chest, giving us the briefest of glances of Fassbender turtleneck and all striding on stage during an event - one of three iconic product launches Aaron Sorkin’s screenplay revolves around, ending with the unveiling of the iMac in 1998. The restrained storytelling could well be a reason Boyle pulls it off.
We’re also treated to quick glances of Kate Winslet as former marketing chief Joanna Hoffman, Jeff Daniels as former CEO John Sculley, and Seth Rogen as co-founder of Apple Steve Wozniak, who will be hoping this serious and well-bearded role does for him what Wolf of Wall Street did for pal Jonah Hill.
Now if you need us, we’ll be pitching our tent outside the Odeon.
Jobs is out in UK cinemas from 13 November
