Matt Smith joins Terminator reboot

After news this week that a whole load of great young (and old) people are joining the new Star Wars trilogy, we now have a rather exciting update for the Terminator reboot.

Matt Smith, of Doctor Who fame, will be taking on a "major role" in the film, tentatively titled Terminator: Genesis. He'll be joining a rather great cast that already includes Emilia Clarke, aka Khaleesi, as Sara Connor, Jai Courtney, John McClane's son in A Good Day To Die Hard, as Kyle Reese and, yup, Arnie.

He's supposed to be the final key piece in the puzzle after Day Okeniyi took on the role that was originally slated for Attack the Block's John Boyega who has since joined the Star Wars cast. He'll be playing the son of Joe Morton's character in Terminator 2.

Little is known about the plot but the whole shebang will be directed by Alan Taylor, who recently helmed Thor: The Dark World and it will be hitting cinemas next summer.
