This, in a nutshell, is the premise for a curious new piece of facial recognition software developed by superficial dating app BLINQ.
Inviting users to upload pictures of themselves to find out how attractive they are and even their supposed age, its tool works on a sliding beauty scale, running from Hmm, OK and Nice, all the way up to the dizzy, ego-massaging heights of Hot, Stunning and Godlike.
Aiming to test how accurate the software is, we took Glamour’s Sexiest Men of 2015 survey, ran images of the aforementioned hunks through the website and listed the results below.
Kicking things off, it was bittersweet news for 42-year-old Pharrell Williams, given a paltry ‘OK’ in the looks department but an estimated age of 28 - only beaten for impressiveness by 44-year-old vampire actor Jared Leto, who was deemed to look only 27. A pup.
Those two aside, the rest of the ages were more or less spot on, with real-life number one pick Jamie Dornan even scoring Godlike - meaning that, yes, this software is worryingly accurate.
Oh and Harry Styles scored ‘Nice’, so there's hope for us all yet.
