Set in the near future and starring Tom Cruise as a military PR reluctantly thrust into humanity’s final battle after an alien invasion leaves our survival hanging by a thread, Edge Of Tomorrow is set to be one of the most inventive blockbusters ever unleashed.
Intriguingly, and this is where the Groundhog Day allusion comes in, Cruise’s cowardly anti-hero encounters an alien on the battlefield which grants him the power of time-looping, and soon he's working alongside Emily Blunt’s wonderfully nicknamed super soldier ‘Full Metal Bitch’ to harness his ability and become mankind's ultimate weapon.
Earlier this year we were treated to a special 25 minute special preview, so believe us when we say it’s shaping up to be quite some film, for which you can expect some high-octane entertainment.
Just don’t expect to find Sonny & Cher on the soundtrack.
Edge of Tomorrow will be out in cinemas from 30 May
