Justin Timberlake channels Steve Jobs in funky dancing robot new video

Justin Timberlake channels Steve Jobs in funky dancing robot new video
05 January 2018

Justin Timberlake is back and he’s brought funky robots from the future with him.

His last track was the pure pop blast of 2016’s ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’, taken from the Trolls soundtrack, but his comeback track is decidedly less SFW, being entitled ‘Filthy’ and featuring the memorable lyrics: “Look, I said, ‘Put your filthy hands all over me/You know, this ain’t the clean version/And what you gonna do with all that meat?/ Cookin’ up a meat serving.”

Let it be known: Justin is very keen for a barbecue, and he wants it now.

’Filthy’ is the first track from his recently-announced fifth album Man of the Woods, which will be released on 2 February, and it’s an absolute funkathon, complete with a video which sees Justin play a Steve Jobs-style figure presenting a new robot to an expectant audience. After demonstrating some basic tasks, it turns out that our new robotic friend wants to get very saucy indeed.

The track was produced by Timbaland, Danja, James Fauntleroy and Lawrence Dopson and frankly we can’t believe Pharrell wasn’t involved as this is an extremely N.E.R.D.-y-sounding affair.

Meanwhile, the video was directed by the legendary Mark Romanek. Well done Mark, you did a good job.

You can expect three more videos before the album drops, and Justin tells us:

‘This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I’ve ever written, where I’m from – it’s personal,’ he said in a trailer for the record. Taking us down south, Justin combines traditional American rock with a modern day twist, labeling the project one of his ‘most ambitious albums to date, both sonically and lyrically’.

Yeah this doesn’t sound very American rock to us. Maybe he’ll cover Garth Brooks just to even it up a bit.

Let’s watch the video shall we? Yes, let’s.

And here’s a video for the album because that’s what people do nowadays.
