Though only one of these had sway over the Max Bill Chronoscope, first designed in 1962 and now re-released with a shimmering new edition costing £1500 – namely design, with Swiss artist Max Bill the man who gave the original wrist piece its look back in the day.
The latest incarnation rejigs the dial slightly by removing the seconds markers on the outside for a smoother, uncluttered look. A new day-date indicator has been added, while signature touches such as the bubble domed lens remain.
It’s not quite a Toblerone watch, but it's not half bad.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
