Sometimes it's easy to forget that a trailer is meant to provoke interest in a movie, rather than to give away the entire plot in 2 minutes.
And this trailer for The Double does exactly that. The film, directed by Richard Ayoade, will apparently be a comedy, but you would never guess from this mesmerising clip, featuring the haunting vocals of an acapella bluesman.
The movie is loosely based on Dostoyevsky's novella of the same name and stars Jesse Eisenberg as a man driven insane by the appearance of his doppelgänger.
Bonus points for spotting a certain Chris Morris in there too.
It receives its world premiere at the Toronto film festival tomorrow.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
