HBO just made a very big 'Game of Thrones'-related mistake

Not the best timing...

HBO just made a very big 'Game of Thrones'-related mistake
16 August 2017

HBO is said to be reeling following the leak of the upcoming episode of Game of Thrones by… HBO.

After weeks of battling a hacker group known as ‘Mr. Smith’, who have been leaking sensitive Game of Thrones data, including full episodes, it appears the greatest damage to HBO has been done by themselves, as a mishap over at HBO Spain has seen the upcoming episode of Season 7, ‘Death is the Enemy’ – which revolves around Jon Snow’s plan to catch a wight beyond the Wall – screen six days early.

The episode was made available for on-demand to Spanish subscribers for one hour before it was eventually removed, but it has now been ripped and shared on a number of torrent websites and forums.

The episode’s legitimacy (and HD quality) has since been confirmed by The Independent, and at time of writing, HBO have yet to make a statement on the situation.

This is not the first time HBO have accidentally leaked their own episodes. Episode 5 of Season 6 of the show – ‘The Door’ – was inadvertently screened on HBO Nordic just hours before the official broadcast and HBO India was hacked this year before the release of Episode 4, ‘Spoils of War’.

HBO, buff up your firewalls, employ more member of staff to your night shifts. Sort it out. Spoilers are killing us here.
