Move over Garfield, there's a new cat in town. And she's not happy.
Word reaches us that miserable moggy Tardar Sauce, more commonly known as Grumpy Cat, is going to be the subject of a new movie. Todd Garner and Sean Robins of Broken Road Productions (Jack and Jill/Anger Management) are teaming up with Grumpy Cat's reps Ben Lashes and Al Hassas to produce a new feature length film starring the internet sensation, who will be given a Garfield-style speaking voice..
Grumpy Cat won Meme of the Year at the 2013 Webby Awards and was a star attraction at the Texas tech festival South by Southwest in March. This development follows deals for a book, Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book - to be released in October - and replica soft toys.
Still, unlike most actors, at least Grumpy Cat will arrive at Hollywood jaded and unhappy rather than slowly becoming that way.
