Along with chocolate-covered pretzels and watching failed handshake gifs, we never tire of smugly pointing out the real locations of movie shoots.
We're not alone and actually we're mere amateurs. Nick Carr has devoted a great deal of his time to capturing them on film on his excellent site Shooting New York. One of his recent projects covers The Godfather and he's assembled an insanely detailed set of pics which show how it all looks now.
You can see a selection of the images below and even more here.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
