What a Christmas this promises to be: a small sci-fi film you might have heard of, and this - what already looks to be yet another slam-dunk brilliant film from the legendary Quentin Tarantino.
Previous trailers had hinted at what was to come but this full two and a half minute clip of The Hateful Eight ups the ante nicely, starring Samuel L Jackson (on usual badass form), Kurt Russell, Tim Roth and Jennifer Jason Leigh and giving glimpses of the story of a group of strangers brought together by a snowstorm.
Tarantino recently told New York magazine: “I’m not trying to make Hateful Eight contemporary in any way, shape, or form. I’m just trying to tell my story. It gets to be a little too much when you try to do that, when you try to make a hippie western or try to make a counterculture western. We’re not trying to make it timely. It is timely... The Good, the Bad and the Ugly doesn’t get into the racial conflicts of the civil war; it’s just a thing that’s happening. My movie is about the country being torn apart by it, and the racial aftermath, six, seven, eight, 10 years later.”
The Hateful Eight hits cinemas on 8 January
