Well that was quick. Hot on the heels of the first official image of Tom Hanks as Walt Disney, released 2 days ago, the first official trailer for Saving Mr Banks has been released.
The story of Disney's attempts to convince author PL Travers to give him the movie rights to her book, Mary Poppins, the clip appears to vindicate those who were already tipping it for Oscars.
Hanks looks perfectly cast as the charismatic Disney, and Emma Thompson likewise, as the more reserved Travers.
In addition, the trailer seems to suggest that the initial release date of January 2014 has been brought forward to Christmas this year - at least in the US: no doubt in attempt to cash in on the film's apparent heartwarming feel. Sign us up for a double bill of this and Home Alone please.
