Glancing at the quick flashing credits on this trailer and you might be forgiven for thinking The Spielberg Brothers were directing the high-concept action.
Turns out Steven Spielberg doesn’t even have a brother - the sibling directors question are the Spierig brothers. Even so, this hasn't put us off enjoying the first look of Predestination, starring Ethan Hawke and set to be the best time travel thriller since Looper.
Playing out more like Timecop minus the groin-defying antics of Jean-Claude Van Damme, the action takes place in mid ‘70s New York, where a mass murderer known as the Fizzle Bomber is on the loose, with a band of date-shifting secret agents tasked with stopping the terrorist across various years.
Hawke stars as one of the undercover G-men known as Temporal Agents, aiming to get his man who’s so far alluded him through time. He’s joined by hotly-tipped Aussie actress Sarah Snook, playing a recruit drafted in to join the man hunt.
And it looks spectacular.
Predestination will be out in cinemas later this year
