God only knows why we've had to wait so long for a starry biopic about Brian Wilson.
Love & Mercy
The pair play Wilson at different points in his life: the younger man grappling with overnight success, the older version moping about his plush home in a bathrobe ruminating on the ups and downs of a turbulent career. Word from last September’s Toronto Film Festival is that it's pretty great.
Neither side of the story appears to shy away from the star's well documented battles with mental illness, either - particularly Dano’s firebrand, who we see displaying early erratic behaviour and roundly worrying studio execs along with his bandmates.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
