FX channel has announced that a series based on the classic film Fargo is coming to the small screen.
Fans of the original will be delighted to know that the hour-long project will be executive produced by Joel and Ethan Coen, masterminds of the 1996 film, with Noah Hawley (My Generation, The Unusuals) co-producing and writing.
Execs will be hoping that the project is a success; an attempt at a TV version was originally made in 2003 (with Edie Falco as Marge) but failed to progress further than a pilot. Hopefully this version will be a (wood)chip off the old block.
It's expected that the character of Marge Gunderson will also take centre stage in the revamp.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
