Forget Independence Day and Halo - we've got a new, terrifying vision of what the inevitable alien invasion will look like, and it's more real than anything sci-fi has offered us.
Created as a trailer for the History Channel's forthcoming The Great Martian War fictional documentary, this captivating vision of extraterrestrial warfare has been created by splicing together archival footage of World War I with animations of the tripod invaders of The War of the Worlds.
Directed by Christian Johnson (Plazma) and Steve Maher (impossible factual), the project looks to ponder what a confrontation with aliens would look like on a large scale, by combining elements of H. G. Wells' classic with the real history of World War I.
Morbid, brutal and oddly exciting, we hope this is a future we'll never get to see.
