Drone footage reveals scale of devastation in Homs, Syria
04 February 2016

Pictures can speak louder than words, but aerial drone footage shouts louder still.

The following video, captured for Ruptly TV, shows the extent of the damage inflicted on Homs in western Syria.

Recorded on 19 January, the streets are filled with rubble and debris, with most buildings either partially or entirely destroyed by bombing.

Homs, which previously held a population of around 1.5 million, has been a site of conflict between ISIS and the Syrian government since 2011. The Assad government took control of the city in late December 2015. It's thought that more than 250,000 people have died in the city during the conflict.
