DMX: hip-hop legend, gravelly-voiced rapper slash actor, shouter of the word ‘WHAT’, fan of a good growl. What’s not to love about the man? Is it possible, even, to love him any more?
Well, yes, actually, because he has done something that makes him infinitely more lovable than before. I now love DMX more than I did just a few hours ago, and I already liked him quite a bit, I’ll have you know.
But what has he done? Before we get down to it, first off we must revisit his live rendition of the Christmas classic ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ - a gift given to us back in 2012 when he appeared on New York’s Power 105.1 radio. Put on a Christmas jumper and soak this up:
Brilliant, what a banger. But not as much of a banger as the song I’m about to show you, because the Lord saw fit to record the song officially and stick it up on Spotify for the masses to consume. And consume we did, many times, in this office. And now it’s your turn:
If you haven’t added that to your playlists immediately, then you are an idiot, for that song, above, look up there, that one just there, is the Only Good Christmas Song.
Play it loud, play it forever, DMX has saved Christmas.
