Disney has begun work on Star Wars Land & teased us with a 360 glimpse

"There are not the drills you are looking for"

Given the countless health and safety measures they ignored when building the Death Star (would a handrail really have gone amiss?), we wouldn’t trust the contractors of the Galactic Empire to fix a patio.

Clearly it’s not put Disney off though, who’ve seemingly hired this lax labour force to help build its forthcoming Star Wars Land, as seen in a new 360 degree video which shows how things are shaping up so far on the 14 acre site within Disney World.

Pretty much just a dusty work-site at present, X-wings stalk the skies, At-At Walkers march in the background (somebody has to fetch the portable toilets) and Stormtroopers stand guard, presumably while claiming overtime and talking about last night's game. Thankfully, all-round good egg BB-8 is on-hand with the project managers to make sure everything is shipshape.

And to be fair, there’s a lot to get done.

“Imagine stepping aboard the Millennium Falcon and actually piloting the fastest ship in the galaxy, banking left, right, firing the laser cannons, you're in complete control,” said Harrison Ford when the big announcement was made last year.

He continued: “Imagine finding yourself in the middle of a battle between the resistance and the first order in a race against time. You've watched the saga, now enter these authentic locales with your every sense engaged. You're meeting droids and aliens, entering otherworldly street markets, actually tasting the local delicacies, and going upscale at the planet's best dinner club, or for the truly adventurous, heading down to the local cantina.”

Let's hope those droids pull their digits out.
