Diego Maradona is arguably the most recognisable ex-footballer in the world.
There’s no mistaking the Argentine’s stocky build, once-curly hair and… let’s say ‘enthusiastic’ face.
Well, we say ‘no mistaking’, but a new statue of Maradona suggests that might not quite be the case.
It’s pretty clear that creating such a likeness isn’t the easiest thing in the world, if this Cristiano Ronaldo statue is anything to go by.
Indeed, the Portuguese got a new one later this year which bore a little more of a resemblance.
However, when it comes to this Maradona statue, unveiled in Kolkata, we’ll let you make up your own minds.
First of all, let’s focus on the positives. It looks like a real human person.

OK, now that’s out of the way we can ask the question on everyone’s lips: why are the arms so fucking huge?
Oh, and the other question: why does it look like a bunch of other people, but not like El Diego himself?
Still, Maradona unveiled the thing himself, and if he’s happy, we’re happy.
