We’re still a week away from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’s big-screen release, but in the meantime, Marvel have revealed the all-important set list of songs that make up the soundtrack you’re inevitably going to rinse on the office Spotify account until July.
It looks like the follow-up to James Gunn’s 2014 cult hit will kick off with ELO’s ‘Mr. Blue Sky’ – no beef with this whatsoever – and we’ve also got a bit of Fleetwood Mac, Sam Cooke and Cat Stevens in there. Still the superhero series that makes you want to dance, then. Excellent.
These songs were already available to download, save for one. The one original composition in the film, ‘Guardians Inferno’, which we’re going to describe as intergalactic disco funk, features a rap from none other than David Hasselhoff. That’s The Hoff. Rapping. About Star-Lord. And Groot. Didn’t see that coming, did you?
