Was Malcolm in the Middle really just a prequel for Breaking Bad?
That’s the question at the heart of this new Comedy Central UK ad, ingeniously re-cutting footage from soon to be re-aired Malcolm and the Middle to highlight the many similarities shared between the paranoid patriarchs Bryan Cranston played in both shows.
From blowing things up to keeping secrets from his loved ones and running around outdoors with only y-fronts on - the references are eerily spot on, making us all wonder if Walter White really was Hal all along.
It might also better explain Walt’s quick rise from chemistry teacher to murderous drug kingpin.
Looking after Malcolm and co. would turn anyone into a sociopath.
