Another day in Hollywood, another childhood classic ruined. No wait, we mean remade. Yes, remade.

The latest being Big, with writer/producers Kevin Biegel and Mike Royce heading up a TV series ‘loosely based’ on the 1988 comedy which memorably saw teen Josh Baskin wishing he was bigger and waking up as fully grown Tom Hanks the next day.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 20th Century Fox TV Studios have described the project as an ‘event series’ based on the movie, exploring just what it means to be an adult and what it means to be a kid.

Though as to what this means for potential uses of oversized flat pianos, the words ‘shimmy, shimmy, cocoa pop’ and blurred lines between consensual sex between an adult woman and a child in a man’s body, it looks as if we’ll have to wait to see.

This adaptation is just the latest in a recent long line of cinematic gems to get the small screen treatment, with Paramount TV gearing up for a School Of Rock series.

On the back of this news we wouldn’t blame you for rushing to your nearest Zoltar and wishing that they left it well alone.
