A bunch of new character posters for Avengers: Infinity War have dropped, and an eagle-eyed internetter has spotted something. Here’s Spider-Man:
And here’s Iron Man:
Notice something? The texture and colour scheme of their costumes are the same, suggesting they’ve been made by the same people. It kind of makes sense - in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Stark took Parker under his wing (not his real wing, his suit is rocket-powered, he doesn’t have wings, Falcon has wings), and that film ended with him producing a new high-tech Spider-suit.
For comic fans this might all seem very familiar - is this the famous Iron Spider outfit? Built by comic-book-Stark for comic-book-Parker, this was pretty much an Iron Man costume with four extra mechanical limbs coming out of the back. A leaked image of, of all things, a Mini-Mates figurine set suggests that the extra arms are on the cards:
Hang on, you’re thinking. Where could these extra flippin’ limbs come from?
Well, feast your eyes on this Chinese poster for the movie. He’s only little on it, but ol’ Webhead is in quite a revealing pose…
(Not revealing like in showing his butt, revealing like in showing his costume’s new accoutrements.) Look at this close-up:
