Americans hate California

And love Hawaii

Americans hate California

To many of us foreigners, California still possesses a slight element of magic. Yes, we know it's where small-town dreams often come to die but it's also the home to Hollywood, aka that place what birthed lots of movies.

However, it appears that this cinematic claim to fame isn't really enough to mask all of the plastic surgery and macrobiotic salads that also typify the state.

In a recent poll, 3,300 Americans were asked to give their opinions on a given state. Poor California came out the worst with 44% of respondents having an unfavourable reaction to the Golden State.

Illinois came up next, with New Jersey, Mississippi and Utah following close behind. At the other end of the spectrum, Hawaii was the most loved state with a 54% favourable reaction, followed by Colorado.

So sunshine is good. Vegans are bad. Got it.
