Album Cover Covers

People covering other people's songs has been going on since the dawn of time. Covering someone's record sleeve, however: that's altogether rarer.

Brazilian art director - and huge music fan - Bruno Leo Ribeiro set himself the ongoing challenge to create new covers for his favourite albums, with one hitch: they had to be completed in the time it takes for the record to play.

That enabled some to be completed at a leisurely pace - Daft Punk's Random Access Memories allowed him a full 74 minutes - with others needing to be done at a breakneck speed. While this could be a disadvantage, one imagines that workrate while listening to Slayer's classic Reign In Blood - just 29 minutes long - would be pretty high.

All of them are fantastic: we've picked our favourite 20 below; head over to his tumblr to see the full collection so far.

Marc Chacksfield
Content Director

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
