You're familiar with the work of John Williams, right?

Sure you are. He's the composer of [deep breath]:

Jaws
Star Wars
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Superman
The Empire Strikes Back
Raiders of the Lost Ark
E.T.
Return of the Jedi
Empire of the Sun
Schindler's List
Home Alone

(We'll skip a few)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens

It's this latest (Oscar nominated) soundtrack that has become the subject of a new theory about how the acclaimed composed might have given away something of Disney's storyline for the new saga - centring on Rey's family origins.

Originating in Reddit's Star Wars thread, user bigj2223 spotted a remarkable similarity in Williams' new scores and those plucked from the original trilogy.

Here's Kylo Ren's theme played in unison with Luke Skywalker's The Force theme of the original films...

Notice all those nice harmonies building into clashes?

Now, here's what happens when you take Luke's theme and overlay Rey's theme...

It's almost a perfect harmony, even down to the timing of each piece - one rising as the other falls.

"Could it be John Williams doing the whole 'the force is strong in my family' thing?" speculates bigj2223.

We like your thinking, bigj2223. It Lukes verRey good to us.

Sorry.
