Exercise can get pretty boring, can’t it? Going to the same old gym, lifting the same weights, awkwardly catching the eye of exactly the same people and then pretending you hadn’t. Boring. It’s no wonder people stop going to the gym.
Never fear, though: there are ways to make exercise more exciting. You could, for example, use your dog as a weight while you squat.
Yeah, okay, it sounds completely absurd and slightly unhinged, but a bunch of people on the internet are doing it which makes it totally okay for you to do it too.
“#dogsquat” was started by Alyssa Greene, a fitness blogger (and her dog, Colonel).
“Some days you just need something to brighten up your feed and make you smile,” she said. “If anyone wants to join me in this fun, take a video of yourself squatting your dog or pet and tag me in it! Or just enjoy this video of me and my freaking adorable pet. Disclaimer: if they're too heavy, don't try it. If they don't like it, put them down. Know your animal before partaking!”
Since then, hundreds of people have joined in the trend.
Exercise, cuddling your dog AND you don’t even have to leave the house. Nailed it.
