Epic Hobbit Flight Safety Video

We all know that the flight safety presentation is the essential-but-boring section of an airborne journey that must be endured. Normally it consists of extremely annoyed-looking flight attendants going through the motions while people weigh up whether they'd actually have the patience to wait until they'd left the plane before inflating the lifejacket - after all, that bit looks fun.

But Air New Zealand are not your standard airline, and they've teamed up with the Hobbit guys again, ahead of this winter's release of The Battle of the Five Armies - the final film in the series -  to create this brilliantly epic flight safety video. It features Elijah Wood, Sylvester McCoy and director Peter Jackson himself, as they go through all the standard procedures in a far more exciting way than usual.
